Flurin Caviezel

Flurin is a third year DPhil in Oncology and a Berrow Foundation Lord Florey Scholar at Lincoln College, Oxford. He received his Master’s degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Bern, Switzerland. During this time, he was researching on allergies and was involved in developing a vaccine against cat hair allergy. Currently, his main focus of research are oncolytic viruses as a therapeutic approach. In his free time, Flurin likes to travel, play the piano and enjoys a good discussion with friends.

 

BAPTISTE VASEY

Baptiste is a third year DPhil student in Surgical Science and a Berrow Foundation Lord Florey Scholar at Lincoln College, Oxford. His research interests are in the applications of artificial intelligence to improve decision making in the surgical wards and in the early stage clinical evaluation of this technology. Prior to joining Lincoln College, he qualified as a medical doctor at the University of Zurich in Switzerland. As a Mercator Fellow for international affairs, he  worked on the IeDA project (mHealth) in Burkina Faso, at the World Health Organization Headquarters in Geneva and as a visiting scientist at the MIT, Boston. Outside his studies, Baptiste enjoys travelling, various kind of sports (handball, rowing, sailing, tennis, …) and altitude-induced hypoxia.
