Lincoln College alumna Dr Tara Swart Bieber is a former medical doctor, neuroscientist, faculty at MIT Sloan, executive advisor, brand ambassador, author of best seller ‘The Source’ which is published in 38 languages, and host of the podcast ‘Reinvent Yourself with Dr Tara’ which charted to No. 1 in life sciences on Apple Podcasts in the U.K. and USA, No 1 in science on Spotify in the U.K. and No 1 in science on Apple Podcasts in the U.K. Dr Swart Bieber works with companies and individuals worldwide to help them achieve mental resilience and peak brain performance, improve their ability to manage stress, regulate emotions, and retain information.

Dr Arabella Begin obtained a DPhil in Pharmacology at Lincoln College and has returned as the Lewis and Audrey Cannell Fellow and Director of Studies in Clinical Medicine. She has trained as a paediatrician with Membership to the Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health, worked as Assistant Professor in Medicine at Harvard and Associate Director for the Center for Educational Innovation & Scholarship (MGH Boston), and led the creation of a new curriculum at Imperial. Dr Begin is deeply invested in medical education research with a particular interest in the field of burnout and uncertainty. She is committed to designing and researching innovative approaches to the teaching of medicine especially with regard to diagnostic reasoning, resilience, and embracing uncertainty.

Micon Garvilles graduated with honours (Magna Cum Laude) from Rochester Institute of Technology with degrees in Biotechnology and Molecular Bioscience, Biomedical Science and Spanish Language. She was awarded a Jack Kent Cooke Oxford International scholarship to pursue an MSc in Pharmacology and a DPhil in Molecular and Cellular Medicine. She is particularly interested in the intersection between immunology and pharmacology. Micon is a trained yoga teacher in Iyengar and Krishnamacharya styles and has been teaching yoga and meditation in Oxford. Her mission is to help people increase their awareness through mindfulness to find a home within themselves and a sense of belongingness in our community.

This panel will be chaired by Isabella Turilli, an MPhil student in International Relations, where she studies the evolution of historical understanding and political power of the “pandemic”. She was previously a research associate for global health, economics, and development at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). Prior to joining CFR, she conducted and published research with the Center for Global Health Science and Security, the Bansal Lab, and as a Fellow with the Georgetown Global Irish Studies Initiative. She has also served extensively as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in the District of Columbia, and worked as an EMT instructor and quality improvement officer with Georgetown EMS and the DC Department of Health. Turilli holds a bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, and International Affairs with a focus on global health policy from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
